Slipping Through My Fingers…

Did anyone watch Mamma Mia? If not, I definitely recommend it. The songs are so CATCHY! (Love Meryl Streep)

Time has been flying by! I’m sad to see it going by so quickly. The boy and I have been exploring Montreal (If you ever have the chance, visit! It’s a great city) and lazing around for the past few days. I didn’t take photos of the food we had together because I haven’t told him about the blog yet :-D

Today! I usually eat (instant) oatmeal for breakfast during school days. But since I had some time today, I made an egg-white scramble with mushrooms, cherry tomatoes and mixed greens, with two slices of whole wheat bread topped with laughing cow cheese. SO DELICIOUS.

I noticed that there was another blog with a name very similar to “Live.Life.Love”, so the title has been changed…I’m pretty sure it makes sense after seeing the breakfast picture! I’m off to study for my midterm next week (Asian Pacific Foreign Policy, wheeee) I hope you’re having a great friday!

Lazy Monday

Who doesn’t love free anydays Mondays?  Because my Mondays are so busy, I’m not usually able to take advantage of the Monday 10% off student discount on groceries. So today, I finally got to use my student discount and SHOP!

I’m lucky enough to have my own apartment near my University (translation: my own kitchen & fridge!), much better than the university dorm mini-fridge and communal kitchen!

YUM

One of the best things about moving to a new country is the whole new variety of food products available! I’m currently trying to sample the Kashi range of products, especially after seeing them on so many other blogs! Does anyone have any recommended Kashi products?

I’m officially hooked on sweet potatoes and butternut squash, so I thought I would branch out and try spaghetti squash (Maybe tonight?) I also bought a few other staple items like pasta, rice, onions, garlic etc. A full fridge gives me so many options for dinner :-)

I decided to try a new class at my local gym. The name of the class was “Cardio Belly Blast”, so I guess I was expecting something along the lines of an “Abs Buns Thighs” type thing. Turns out, it was a bellydancing class! Much awkwardness ensued…wasn’t much of a workout but it was an interesting experience!

Laters!

Dinner Party

Reading Week Or  Spring Break a.k.a WEEK OFF!!

I thought I would begin the first post of my blog with a white tie dinner hosted by one of the student societies in my university. I love formal dinners, especially after a hellish 2 weeks of midterms!

So, onto the food! The food wasn’t out of this world, but it was definitely still tasty! For the entree, (which I didn’t take a picture of, will be more consistent in my next posts!) We had a spring roll stuffed with sauteed mushrooms and scallops. I wasn’t a huge fan of the spring roll wrap, so I picked the stuffing out…it wasn’t the prettiest of plates after I was through with it!

Next course was a mixed green salad with endives and cherry tomatoes. I LOVE SALAD (especially endives). The salad was absolutely swimming in the balsamic vinaigrette, but I didn’t let that come between me and my greens :-D

Swimming Salad

Our entree was a beef steak, roasted potatoes with mixed vegetables (carrots, peas, peppers). Yum! Though I wish my steak had been more rare

I’m sorry the photo isn’t better! I didn’t know I was going to be posting any of these pictures until today! As you can see, the meal came with some white rolls (zero nutrition, but so fluffy!) and red wine. And lastly, dessert!

Chocolate Mousse with Berry Coulis and Vanilla Sauce

I think it speaks for itself!

It was a lovely night, and a great beginning of the week off! I hope you’re all having a GREAT start to the week!
